This position is directly responsible for the management and coordination of field personnel, serving as the liaison between the Director of Field Operations, Project Managers, and field staff to ensure that quality standards are met.
Essential Functions:
Train and supervise the Foremans and Crew and provide all necessary tools required for them to perform their roles and responsibilities.
Verify all daily reports and weekly safety Tool Box Talks are being conducted.
If there is any deficiency, then provide proper training to get this on track.
Maintain vigilance on all projects and if any Superintendent or Field deficiencies are discovered then immediately work with the Project Managers and provide training and/or determine if manpower changes need to be made.
Conduct annual evaluations of all JAX Mechanical/Refrigeration Foreman and Crew.
Responsible for ensuring JAX Field Personnel have their annual evaluations completed.
Coordinate manpower prior and during execution of any Mechanical project with assigned Project Managers for each project.
Maintain/Establish relationships with Staffing Agencies to ensure proper certified temporary employees are deployed to our projects.
Provide necessary support for the Project Manager and Director of Field Operations on the job sites to ensure all required materials and equipment are called on and off the site.
Responsible for the coordination between the Project Manager, Foreman and the Staffing Agencies to provide the right personnel for the job.
Quick determination of the performance of the temporary worker is a MUST and any underachieving worker needs to be replaced immediately.
Act as a member of the JAX Refrigeration Safety Team.
Conduct semi-annual safety and damage checks of all JAX Refrigeration vehicles.
Use vehicle safety checklist and submit to Safety team.
Perform additional labor duties to fulfill any voids.
Willingness to work as a team player in all capacities to ensure the project schedule and critical path is met.
On site problem solving abilities are a must.
Technical knowledge of commerical and industrial MEP field is required.
SUPERVISION OF PERSONNEL:
Site Foreman Sheet Metal Mechanics Helpers KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
5
years of experience in the HVAC/Refrigeration industry as a Superintendent.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Sage, Bluebeam, and Adobe Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
Familiar with LEED principles.
Able to multi-task and handle competing priorities while maintaining excellent customer relations.
Excellent organizational skills to manage the many details necessary for successful construction projects.
Must have judgment to know when to appropriately escalate issues up the chain of command.
Ability to travel as needed.
